 Re: My New E Mbx6
Sorry guys...No one said e8 hits worse than Nitro hits... but e8's are different then nitro in many on track capabilities, which make them inherent more prown to wind up stricking someone in the head. Just the fact that several accidents have happened recently that have all the participants (track owners/manufacturers/promoters/racing organizations/and racers) a little concerned about the life of their companies and concern over possible legal exposure.
Ross, no disrespect for your hours of testing, but the word of mouth people (not everyday forum keyboarders) I work with weekly on this topic have you beat. Including a lab that does nothing but test LiPo (and new technology) batteries for medical/industrial/automotive applications as well as r/c applications. They are deeply invested in technology, engineers, manufacturing, and the r/c industry around the world. Put your resume' together and I will forward it to them.

 Re: My New E Mbx6
so your admitting that what you say is second hand knowledge. I dont pass along "forum" knowledge.
Im only trying to help people to build the best setups possible for their needs/ budget. When people want to get into the electrics i want thier first experience to be a good one! Not riddled with problems that can be completely void by goin in the correct direction. So with the current products i can point people towards the best investment of their money because wasting money is not something many like to do. I test tons of products, lipos, and software that is not avaible to others. If your contacts want to join a discussion with me that is fine, but stating 2nd hand info about systems and things that are not even avaible leaves the wrong impression to those who do not know alot about the subject. (possibly leading them to buy equipment that with the current lay of things can not do what the new stuff MIGHT be able to). Every bit of information i have given i can back with multiple test of all different degrees and if anyone of your "contacts" was to speak with me for awhile they would agree with on everything ive said thus far. And if most any company has new brushless systems coming I have the contacts to generally recieve and test these before most people ever know about them.
I mean if you have never ran all these systems/setups and tested these products for yourself then why are you even commenting on the subject. Why dont you go be productive else where, because you not helping here. You could start with your section of the forum that you have ignored.
(mike im sorry all this ended up in your thread )

 Re: My New E Mbx6
JD who are these company's that are working on 2s and 3s setups that you speak of??? every 1/8 scale system i see that is out or coming out is based on a 4s, 5s and 6s setup when you run a higher voltage battery all it will do is be more effeciant and put less strain on the esc and battery its not gonna make the buggy and faster, it does not matter what size kv motor or what size lipo somebody runs they are gonna be geared for about the same speed the nitros will run just as fast as a electric, they will just not accelerate as quick and as far as the comment about safety there is no difference between the two if you get hit by a nitro its gonna hurt just as bad as getting hit by a electric so why would a company want to slow down a electric buggy but let the nitro's stay the same????????

 Re: My New E Mbx6
Thanks Mojo for the compliments and as for how the thread is going. I look at this way .. I'm really new to the elec side of racing . I started with a Assoc T4 and a 3000 batteries and now I'm looking at lipos 1s - 8s 20 - 50c 2000- 5000 mah pinion gearing and all that
So there has been alot of talk and I get to see both sides and then I get to figure out what I can do.
So talk away.
And BTW santa was kinda nice to me... so esc and motor here we come.

 Re: My New E Mbx6
Just my thought but i think the safety issue with the e-8th is with the exceleration that they have. YES they do go the same speed as the nitro on top(accually nitro is fster at wolf pack, right ROSS, LOL) but the electrics get there twice as fast. Take the tripple at wolf pack for example, A nitro comes out of the corner, pins it, and makes the downside. Now take an e-8 like Ross has and stop 4 feet from the take off then punch it and you will OVER jump the landing by 6 feet, i know, i have done it. Heck i have seen ross jump it like that in reverse. There is your safety concern that the companies, tracks, and marshalls are haveng. When you have that much speed that quick people that CANNOT handle it have more of a chance of hurting someone marshalling by going to big. Then the track owner is held liable for the accident. Like i said earlier this is just my opinion, I could be way off but i think i'm pretty close.

 Re: My New E Mbx6
I'm not sure but I think that's why they make wavers for,, ,maybee we should look into getting some for everyone to sign at every track when they sign up to race and they be the only ones allowed on the track.
